Environment & Values

Annapurna IT sets out to be something that other recruitment organisations are not.

We believe that all companies can have a much greater environmental impact than has so far been demonstrated by many organisations and indeed recruitment companies.

The decision to form Annapurna IT has come from the realisation that we can do much more to prevent the destruction of our natural environment. We believe that by opting to use only suppliers who are committed to reducing their energy usage, waste and increasing recycling, for example, then everyone will make small steps towards the goal of reducing the strain on our natural resources. Whether or not you subscribe to Global Warming theories, it is a fact that one day in the not too distant future there won't be any oil left to burn, it's time to look at alternatives.

As a result Annapurna IT consultants often work from home, our power comes from renewable energy sources (Ecotricity) and we have a neutral Carbon footprint, using www.climatecare.org to carbon offset where necessary.

We ourselves have checked all or our own suppliers, to be sure they are in line with our own standards.
More than that, we are one of a number of organisations that have pledged to donate at least 1% of sales to "1% for the Planet", a charity that donates to 1500 environmental good causes worldwide.

Any candidate or client we deal with will have the opportunity to vote for a project from a shortlist that we will provide, so you can actively have a say in where the money goes.

Annapurna is a range of mountains and a sanctuary in the Himalaya, itself named after the Hindu Goddess of fertility and agriculture.

We believe that clients and candidates alike will choose to work with us as an ethically and environmentally sound supplier of choice.
